    GroundShare Housing ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it — in plain language, in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

    1. Who we are

    GroundShare Housing is a Vancouver-based housing initiative developing relocatable modular rental homes. We operate the website at groundsharehousing.com. For privacy inquiries, use our contact form.

    2. What information we collect

    We only collect information you provide directly to us through our contact form:

    • Full name
    • Email address
    • Organization name (optional)
    • Role / partner type (the category you select)
    • Areas of interest (checkboxes you select)
    • Your message

    We do not collect payment information, government ID, or any sensitive personal information. We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.

    3. Why we collect it

    Your information is used solely to:

    • Respond to your enquiry about partnering or collaborating with GroundShare Housing
    • Contact you about the initiative, consistent with the consent you provided

    We will not use your information for marketing unrelated to GroundShare Housing, and we will not sell or rent your data to third parties.

    4. Legal basis and consent

    By submitting the contact form and checking the consent checkbox, you expressly consent to being contacted about GroundShare Housing — consistent with CASL requirements for commercial electronic messages. You may withdraw consent at any time via our contact form.

    5. How we store and protect your data

    Form submissions are transmitted via Supabase (a secure cloud platform) and delivered to us by email through Resend. Both services use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Supabase infrastructure is hosted in data centres that comply with SOC 2 Type II standards.

    We retain your information for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and maintain our partner relationship with you. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so within 30 days.

    6. Sharing your information

    We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except the service providers named above (Supabase, Resend) who assist in operating our website, subject to confidentiality agreements.

    7. Your rights

    Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

    • Access the personal information we hold about you
    • Request correction of inaccurate information
    • Withdraw consent and request deletion of your data
    • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

    To exercise any of these rights, submit a request via our contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

    8. Third-party links

    Our website may contain links to external sites (e.g. source citations on the Problem page). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

    9. Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
